Online Bingo Explained

Online bingo is one of the fastest-growing internet activities in the world, with hundreds of thousands of players across the globe. It is essentially similar to its real life bingo hall equivalent, except for the fact that it is played on computers over the internet, the bingo caller has been replaced by a random number generator, and the bingo cards have been replaced by virtual equivalents.

It can be played merely for fun, although the paid version of the game, with cash prizes, is a lot more popular. The social aspect of the bingo hall is recreated through the use of chat functions, which allow you to communicate with other players in real time. The majority of online bingo sites also offer links to other internet betting services, such as online casinos and poker rooms. Some, like skyvegas.com, host the lot – online casino games, sports betting and bingo.

There are two main variants of the game of bingo: 75-ball bingo, and 90-ball bingo. The 75-ball version of the game is more popular in North America, and the 90-ball version is more popular in Europe, Australia, and South America, although there is a degree of crossover. The aim of the game in both versions is to mark off numbers on your cards in a desired pattern. The range of patterns that are used in 75-ball bingo can vary dramatically, from simple lines to more complicated patterns.

By way of contrast, the patterns used in 90-ball bingo are much more straightforward. A 90-ball bingo card consists of three horizontal lines and nine columns. The first column contains numbers from 1-9, the second contains numbers from 10-19, and so on up to the final column which contains numbers from 80-90.

There are five numbers on each row, and three rows on each card, which means that there are fifteen numbers on each card. In a 90-ball bingo game, there are prizes given out for the first person to complete one line on their card, for the first person to complete two, and the first to get a ‘full house’, which is when you have marked all the numbers on one of your cards. Usually, you will get a strip of five cards to mark at once, although some online bingo rooms will offer more or less than this.
